Kappa Pi
Kappa Pi is an International Art Honors Society, founded in 1911, that seeks to foster an appreciation of the arts both on and off campis, and recognize students achievements in the field of art. Kappa Pi activities are generally geared toward promoting knowledge and skill in studio art practices and knowledge about art history, as well as general fellowship among art students, who bring many new ideas or directions to each Kappa Pi chapters.
Delta Mu Chapter of Kappa-Pi
Delta-Mu Chapter at the 快猫短视频 had an eventful year of activities promoting art, building community on campus, and gaining professional experience. Members held a meet and greet picnic to welcome the freshmen and their new visiting faculty. They collaborated with art club members to make scarves for spring fundraiser and presented Art-from-Your-Heart Workshops to share an experience of art-making with fellow university students. In March, some members, in the company of their professor, traveled to the National Clay Conference in Milwaukee. Senior members spoke to Tishomingo County third grade students about artwork in their graduation exhibition. In July, between working hard in the studio and enjoy the fun of tubing, they joined the tourism department in the No-Raft Race event promoting clean water and other environmental issues while showcasing the process of printmaking.
Eligibility Requirements:
- 3.0 GPA average in all studio classes
- 2.5 GPA overall average
- Nomination from one or more studio art faculty
- $25 initiation fee + $10 annual fee
